Product Overview
This 52.8V 9Ah lithium titanate (LTO) battery cell pack is specifically engineered for Automated Guided Vehicles and industrial mobile equipment that demand extreme cycle life and wide temperature tolerance. With more than 10000 cycles at 80 percent remaining capacity, this LTO chemistry outperforms both LiFePO4 and lead acid in high frequency stop and start applications. Please note that this battery pack does not include a built in BMS. An external Battery Management System must be added by the user or system integrator to ensure safe charge, discharge, and cell balancing.

Why LTO for AGVs
Automated Guided Vehicles often operate in cold warehouses, hot manufacturing plants, and fast charging opportunity scenarios. LTO chemistry delivers stable performance from -40℃ to 65℃ for both charging and discharging, a range unmatched by other lithium technologies. The cycle life exceeds 10000 cycles at 100 percent depth of discharge, meaning an AGV completing three full cycles per day will run for over nine years before reaching 80 percent remaining capacity. Fast charging at up to 30A reduces downtime and increases fleet productivity.

Technical Specifications Core Parameters
Nominal voltage is 52.8V with 9Ah rated capacity and total energy of 475.2 watt hours. Internal resistance is below 100 milliohms. Efficiency reaches 98 percent. Self discharge is less than 5 percent per month. The pack supports up to 225 cells in series and 6 cells in parallel for large custom battery banks. Mechanical dimensions are 215mm width, 261mm depth, and 75mm height. Weight is approximately 7 kilograms. Housing is made of epoxy board plus PVC for insulation and basic protection. Terminals are model 43025-1600 and 501646-2400. There are 13 NTC thermistor points for temperature monitoring via the external BMS.

Discharge Parameters for AGV Operation
Continuous discharge current is 9 amps. Pulse discharge current reaches 60 amps for less than 2.5 seconds. A 50 amp fuse provides additional overcurrent protection. The recommended voltage disconnect point is 33V. When using an external BMS, the discharge cut off voltage can be set to 35.2V or other values according to BMS configuration. Reconnect voltage is typically 39.6V but depends on BMS settings. Short circuit protection is also managed entirely by the external BMS.

Charge Parameters for Fast Turnaround
AGVs benefit from rapid charging during brief idle periods. This LTO pack accepts CC CV charging with voltage between 60.5V and 61.6V. Recommended float voltage for full charge is 59.4V to 60.5V. The standard charge current is 9 amps for gentle charging, but the maximum allowable current is 30 amps for fast charging sessions. BMS charge cut off voltage is typically set to 61.6V, adjustable according to the external BMS configuration.

Temperature Performance Without Limits
Most lithium batteries cannot charge below 0℃. This LTO battery charges and discharges from -40℃ to 65℃, eliminating the need for heater blankets in cold storage AGVs. Discharge and charge ranges are identical. Storage temperature is 0℃ to 45℃ for long term preservation. The external BMS high temperature cut off is typically set to 65℃ but can be adjusted based on application safety requirements.

Important Note on BMS Integration
This battery pack is sold without an integrated BMS. To use it safely in any AGV or electric vehicle, you must connect a suitable external Battery Management System that supports LTO chemistry with per cell voltage limits of 1.8V to 2.8V approximately for 24 series cells (since 24S LTO nominal is 52.8V at 2.2V per cell). The external BMS must handle 9A continuous discharge, 30A charge, and provide cell balancing, overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and temperature protection using the 13 NTC sensors. Failure to use a BMS may result in permanent cell damage or safety hazards.

Applications Beyond AGVs
While designed for AGVs, this LTO cell pack is also ideal for automated mobile robots (AMRs), heavy duty forklifts, electric pallet jacks, port automated guided carts, and airport ground support equipment. It works well in hybrid energy storage systems where rapid charge and discharge pulses are frequent. The ability to operate at -40℃ makes it suitable for cold chain logistics warehouses, outdoor automated yards in northern climates, and refrigerated container handlers.

Cycle Life and Total Cost of Ownership Calculation
With more than 10000 cycles at 100 percent DOD, this LTO battery offers the longest service life of any lithium chemistry. For an AGV that completes 10 partial cycles per day (opportunity charging), the battery will last well over 15 years in continuous operation. Compare this to LiFePO4 at 4000 cycles or lead acid at 500 cycles. Although the upfront cost per watt hour is higher, the cost per cycle is dramatically lower. Additionally, no battery replacement labor, no production downtime for battery swapping, and consistent throughput make LTO the lowest total cost option for high intensity AGV fleets.

Mechanical Integration and Mounting
Dimensions are 215 by 261 by 75 millimeters, a compact form factor that fits into standard AGV battery trays or underbody compartments. The weight of about 7 kilograms is light enough for manual handling during maintenance. The epoxy board and PVC housing provides electrical insulation and moderate mechanical protection, but it is not waterproof. For wet environments, install the pack inside an IP54 or higher enclosure. The two terminal types (43025-1600 and 501646-2400) are industry standard connectors for medium current applications. Secure the pack with brackets or straps to prevent vibration damage.

Wiring and External BMS Connection
The pack includes 13 NTC thermistor leads that must be connected to the external BMS for temperature monitoring. Place thermistors in contact with the cell surfaces or as designated by the pack layout. The main power wires (positive and negative) should be routed to the BMS’s power input or directly to the load with the BMS controlling the charge and discharge MOSFETs. Use appropriate gauge wire for 30A continuous current (minimum 10 AWG). Ensure that the external BMS has a balancing current suitable for 9Ah cells, typically 50mA to 100mA per cell.
